Do you have Xsane installed, Melinda?

You need that to be able to scan. If you do not have it installed, go to Applications, Add/Remove and look for XSane Image Scanner. Place a tick into the box next to it and then click on "Apply Changes".

Hi!  Yes I have it and now I'm able to see it like I would before.  I just think I pressed a wrong button or something. I press scan and the scanning screen shows up but I don't see the scan button.  I'm just able to see alot of Icons for adjusting color.  Also I see the following flatbed,  color,  full color range,  150.  Bye!

On the screen that you mentioned, click on "Window" and then tick on "Show Preview". That will open yet another screen that will let you ask for a preview of what you are scanning. If the preview is satisfactory, then you can click on the "Scan" button on your first screen.

I have a pdf file (181KB) that describes the scanning procedure in detail. Your Evince Document Viewer (part of the standard installation) would open it. If you would like me to send it to you, please say.

I pressed show preview,  it opened another window, then I  pressed acquire preview.  It showed me the preview but I still cannot see the scan button on the other page.  If you don't mind I would like you to send the pdf file (181KB) that describes the scanning procedure.  Thanks for help.  Bye!
