Scanner not detected in Dapper

Asked by nLIter

Scanner problem.
I can't get my scanner to work in any Linux Distro. It's the only reason I am still using Windows.

Scanner info: Mustek 600 CP.
Suggestions will be highly appreciated.
     Thanks in advance.

Scanners are so very under supported in linux/ubuntu :(
Heres the driver you need, some fiddling is required but not too much.

Hello Toma,
Thanks for the info on Mustek scanners.
I can see that there's some work to to be done with the drivers
here. Hopefully, I will be successful.
Unfortunately, being a newby as far as working with commands in a terminal, I hope I won't mess things up.
     Best regards, Don

Hi Williamts99,
Thanks again for your interest. Unfortunately, I haven't tried setting up my
scanner to work with Ubuntu or any other distro. Since I don't use it very
often, I do my work using windows. That's where I also have the Ulead photo-
processing program which is quite versatile.
But some day I will get enough courage to try setting it up to work with my
Ubuntu.
Best regards,
Don
