After update on Jan. 28 my video and audio no longer function

I just installed the latest updates as of Jan. 28, after which I no longer have sound and video palyback is choppy or does not work at all. Before update everything was working fine. This is the second time this has happened.

That usually happens when the Kernel is upgraded. I you are using some "manually" installed modules (drivers) you need to reinstall them.
Do you currently use Nvidia or ATI drivers? (this usually fail when "manually" installed)
