video card issues

hello: I am running Ubuntu 9.04, I have had an on going problem. When playing games my CPU usage jumps to 100%, I have a duo core system 2 Gigs of ram. I thought it might be nvidia issue, ran lspci | grep vga - results stated intel corp GM965/GL960??? Is that a nvidia card, prod spec for my laptop Acer Aspire 7720 state I have nvidia card with 256 integrated RAM, I have had black screens on login and screen freezes, any help would be very appreciated, I had linux on my laptop for about two months and I enjoy the OS and very much want it work. I am a convert

Alright check to see if you have the proper nvidia drivers installed
[1], [2], [3] and if there's no solid reason not to, upgrade to karmic

Thanks I was waiting to upgrade to Karmic once I solved my problem. Thanks for your time, being new to linux this is all a learning experience, your help is apprieciated this is what I love about ubuntu people coming together to help people
