resolution stuck to 800x600.

Asked by deepak

Hello everyone,

i have HCL notebook B30 C2D( 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, intel core"2 Duo processor) with dual boot in Windows xp and ubuntu9.04. The screen resolution in my ubuntu has been stuck to 800x600,there are not other options even. I had gone to recovery mode startup for ubuntu and there i saw an option of auto repairing the graphics problem. I had selected that option and than system automatically did some command work on xconfig. but my problem remains the same.
other than this i had not tried any thing. Please help me out of this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.
waiting for your response..
