Intel GMA 900 Terrible Performance!

Asked by Marshamk

Hey guys

Ubuntu Noob Here. I have a Sony Vaio with an Intel GMA 900 128MB card running Ubuntu Jaunty. I am having a horrible time getting the graphics card to cooperate. Windows are really choppy, glx gears only pulls about 450 fps, and tux racer barely moves. I understand this to be a common issue, but I haven't found a resolution yet....Please help!!!

 Here is my xorg.conf file:

Also turning off the compiz-visual-effects will help a lot (if not already turned off).

System - Settings - Appearance - Visual-Effects -> none
