Num Lock is on for a Macbook 4,1 keyboard

Asked by remaker

There is supposed to be a mechanism to detect the fact that a keyboard is on a laptop, and therefore disable Num Lock.

For Ubuntu variants on a Macbook4,1, Num Lock is on by default, effectively disabling the keyboard (can only type numbers)

If you know to type Fn-F6 twice, you can disable num lock, or attach an external keyboard to turn Num Lock off.

My understanding is that logic exists in the code to turn off num lock for laptop keyboards with no numeric keypad.

Some MacBook keyboards (demonstrably the Macbook5,1) evade that detection.

Where is the right place to report a bug?
