system not working

i am using dell vostro 3568 8gb ram 1tb hdd ubuntu 16.04lts.i am unable to update any software and error messages are coming.i am also unable to install codeblocks neither i am able to install any softwares.even rhythmbox is also not syncing the songs from the softwares.
