Monitor Setup keeps popping up on desktop

Asked by John Paul Tan Galang

Im using HP ze4900 kubuntu 8.10 intrepid. In random occasion, the MONITOR SETUP HAS CHANGED SCREEN would pop out and ask me this question "A monitor output has been disconnected. Do you wish to run a configuration tool to adjust the monitor setup?". Anyone has any idea how to fix this issue?

Please take a look here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase-workspace/+bug/296223/comments/7
You should be able to upgrade to KDE 4.2 by doing the following:
Open Applications->System->SoftwareSources, click on the tab "Updates", enable "Unsupported updates", and close. Then start Applications->System->UpdateManager, and check for updates. KDE 4.2 should be listed among them. Install the updates. Log out, log in again.
