Cannot select screen resolution >640x480

I'm a 1st time user of Ubuntu 6.06LTs. my system is unable to change screen resolution from the default setting of 640x800 to higher resoultion. system detected graphic card in use is S3 ProSavage PM133, which is an onboard integrated video card. current PC specs are P3 1Ghz, 368MD SDram.

I'm not familiar with the Savage graphic card, but here you can find some information that should help you to fix your problem:

Most probably this is just a question of selecting the right setting in the xorg.conf file.
In case you still have problems, please paste here the content of your xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log files.
If you need I can give you detailed instructions on how to do this.
