Screen Resolution

Asked by Orrin McGill

I have a Dell Latitude C600 capable of 1024x768.
This laptop with Ubuntu 6.xx worked fine at 1024x768.
Because disk space I have recently removed Windows 2000 and Ubuntu 6.xx and from a clean install installed Ubuntu 8.10.
With the new install maximum is now 800x600.
I have tried changing the resolution, but I am only given two choices 800x600 and 640x480. I have visited the Dell website but they only offer drivers for REDHAT 7.0 and a Bios .exe file.

I have not tried using those files.

Do you have any ideas???

Ludz,

Although the UnbuntuGeek link did not have the file, I was able to find it on the Ubuntu forum.

It worked fine once I found the txt file.

Thanks for the help.
