After upgrading ubuntu8.04.1 to ubuntu8.10 my keyboard was not detected in graphical user interface and I could not login as I cant type my userid and password

I am an Ubuntu user.I was using Ubuntu8.04.1 and I upgraded to 8.10 beta version.After the system reboot I could not type my password as I keyboard is not being detected.I was able to use the same keyboard in earlier versions.My system is Compaq 702 TU laptop with 32 bit processor and other accessories.

Please read https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/254840
Try to install the xserver-xorg-input-all package.
