xorg using 100% cpu in all 3D apps

Asked by crakken

Every time that I try to run anything that is 3D related (wine, supertuxkart, etc) xorg pops up and starts using all of my cpu. I have already turned visual effects off. If I turn them to normal xorg constantly uses about 50% and never lets up. I don't even with bother with fuzion. it immediately causes xorg to eat up 100% even if all the tweaks are turned off.

I have a P4 2.8 ghz
              ATI Radeon 9600 se
              1.2 gb of RAM
              Ubuntu 8.04.1
