Display crashing 12.04

After running for a random interval the display on my HP pavillion Dv5 crashes. The computer seems to still be running, but goes to blank (not black) screen. I took it into a repair shop, they said all hardware checks out ok. This issue also presents when using external display thru HDMI.

Try using Unity2D session
