After full install ubuntu will not start

I had Ubuntu and win 7 running then did complete install with erasing everything, now ubuntu will not start. When I turn on computer it goes thru lenovo start then to GNU GRUB Version 2.00-7ubuntu if I choose Ubuntu screen goes black with flashing cursor, and stays there. I know nothing about ubuntu. Any help is appreciated.

Hi it is a Lenovo B575 not sure of video chip. I decided to do a factory recovery. I then plan on reloading Ubuntu from the flash drive. I tried for hours to get it working but I just do not know enough.
