Hybrid graphics: Intel HD and Nvidia Optimus(Dual GPUs)

Asked by Muhammad Umar Ibrahim

I bought two Dell notebooks with Ubuntu preinstalled ( I assumed Linux will run perfectly on them because Ubuntu was preinstalled). But Linux is really headache on them because lack of Nvidia Optimus drivers.
Does Nvidia has any plans to work on Nvidia Optimus drivers for linux sooner or later? Or Is there any open source drivers for it?

Yes, Optimus is a massive headache in anything but Windows. Nvidia said that they will not be supporting the technology (but they later joined the Linux Foundation so things may change). I have never seen a single success story with this but this may help:

I doubt you will have much luck

Can you help with this problem?
