xrandr: Panning doesnt work after update

Asked by Claus Misfeldt

I used to have a virtual resolution of 1024x768 on my 1024x600 netbook. I did this by adding...

xrandr --fb 1024x768 --output LVDS1 --mode 1024x600 --panning 1024x768

...to my autostart script. After updating from Ubuntu 10. to 12.04 LTS panning doesn't work anymore. The virtual resolution is created but the mouse/trackpad cursor cannot leave the physical screen. I use the "Gnome-classic" desktop.

Panning now works. I installed the x-server patch described here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/893785
