Top of screen flashes at bottom of screen

Asked by KTagher

The top of my screen intermittently flashes at the bottom of the screen, almost the entire width of the top bar. I can't take a screen shot of it, for some reason it doesn't capture. I have an HP pavilion dv4 with no display driver support for Ubuntu - only windows. I have completely reinstalled Ubuntu and this issue still persists. I check for driver updates and there is none. Please help, I'm desperate and about to throw this computer against a really hard brick wall to correct the problem.

Hi there,

you have problems with your graphic card drivers for sure. You need to install it if you wish to fully using your system. because unity by default needs to have graphics accelerator. Try going to system settings > additional drivers and then check if you might have drivers here to install.

This might solve your problem, if not try to search for some additional universal drivers for your graphic card on internet.

If that helps you solve your question, please mark thread as solved.

Regards,
Miha
