Monitor enters PWR Saving mode || Directly after OS Selection + POST

Asked by Grady

I'm really new to using Ubuntu/Linux so If I don't completely understand everything, don't mind me, Ill figure it out.

I had a few questions about installation, as well as a few other things that someone may be able to help me with.

I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 (Dual boot w/ Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. Custom built setup, spec's below--) with the Windows Installer. It finished Installing and prompted me to Restart, so I did. My system POST's and boots up to the OS Selection screen and I select Ubuntu, Then a pretty expected/standard couple lines of text pop up (Not a GUI, but similar to a menu like the OS Select screen) for 3 seconds and I don't press anything. It says that its continuing to installation but as soon as the 3 seconds pass, my monitor immediately switches into Power saving mode, everything else is working, The keyboard is powered, but I cant really press anything (Like ctrl+alt+delete, or alt+backspace) and get a response. My system spec's are below:

Monitor: LG 21.5" LCD Monitor w/ Native resolution of 1600x900
CPU/Processor: AMD A6-3500 APU OC'ed to 3.6GHz w/ 3MB+ L2 Cache and On-die Graphics
SSD/Primary Storage: OCZ Agility SATA III 6.0Gbps SSD 60GB
Motherboard: ASRock A75M-ITX Socket FM1 w/ PCIe 2.0/2.1 x16 (No Graphics card currently installed, FYI, using the Proc's On-die Graphics. ATI Radeon 6310D, I think.)
Memory/RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333MHz @ 1.5Volts w/ 8 CAS Latentcy (G.Skill RipjawX)
Powersupply/PSU: DiabloTek ATX 350Watt PSU w/ 1 120mm Fan @ 2000RPM -+

If anyone could help me with this that'd be great, I never paid for Win7 and its starting to bug me with Validation crap, never used to do that, oh well though! I NEED UBUNTU! :)

Thanks,

- Grady T.

The system must have a video card, or it will fail POST

I suggest the boot option:

nomodeset
