Will not recognize touch screen

I have a OLD HP Pavilion tx1308nr Notebook PC with a touch screen (HP Pavilion tx1308nr Notebook PC (type of display)) I just have started messing with Ubuntu and I would like to use my touch screen how would I go about making the computer to recognize that it is there?

lsb_release -a; uname -a; lspci; lsusb

when I updated to the new unbuntu it fixed it self i was runing a really old vir os it is working now thanks for your help thou
