touch screen problem with dell insprion

Have you tried with Oneiric, the later kernel and drivers may make it work. Why Lucid?

Thanks for info explain please oneiric version over lucid so i have no i dea which i have installed was from disk downloaded from the ubuntu site ,is installed on various pc s all work pecfectly so not the wiser sorry which type it is.So i can please can explain what need to do where do i get the oneiric version of 10.04 ,I just like ubuntu on pc like it over windows so just load and forget
So any help would be gratefully accepted

Oneiric is the codename for Ubuntu 11.10 and is the latest stable release.

thanks got loaded 11.10 load works great as normal pc but touch screen not working try to work out what drivers or apps i can use to get working as a touch screen ,touch set and callibration any ideas ?

its all up dated have tryed going through the software center to find software that may help, downloaded ,restarted ,still no touch screen working ,
