I just installed Ubuntu 11.10 and the screen is flickering...I installed it in every way but the screen is flickering again and agian...Help please

i had a similar problem and found out it was nothing to do with ubuntu it was my fan clogged up and over heating

Please try press ctrl+alt+f1 login with your user and password and try to install unity-2d type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install unity-2d

then type:

sudo reboot

to reboot your system, then at boot press on the gearwheel and choose unity-2d
