Continuation -----a) the mouse freezes up but keyboard still works b) the programs freeze mouse and pointer can move and keyboard does to but no commands are accepted c) every thing freezes up nothing works have to cold shut down and the cold bout the system. All this happens either I'm on line or off line. Please is there something I can do to see if I'm infected or hacked, or is there a site I could go and have my System checked for the two prier mentioned.

Yeah the compiz in natty isn't brilliant. All I can recommend is you report a bug

Please tell do you need compiz ?
If no you can log out and before to login with your user and password look at bottom of the login page please select Ubuntu classic no effects

Did what you said. It still happened there were not change in my gremlin. He
is still playing havoc with my System

Did as requested, no change in gremlin's attitude. He {gremlin} Still playing havoc with my system, even will in Ubuntu classic no effects. Will continue as requested for the next few days and see if GREMY is still alive.!

Please also try tu start your pc from a Ubuntu 11.04 live install cd select to try Ubuntu without install
Do you get same issue...?
