My mouse just can't stop to freeze since I updated to 11.04

Asked by Alexandre

Ok, so i have a simple Microsoft Optical mouse 1000, which worked really fine untill I updated my x86-64 system from 10.04 ( to 10.10 then) to 11.04. I tried several catalyst drivers (since i have a radeon HD), that I compiled to packages, 11.5 (which was hugely bugged) then 11.6, to finally come back to the regular FGLRX provided by Ubuntu.

So the problem is like in the title, my mouse freezes randomly, and then i have to unplug, and plug it again to make it work again. Could be not so boring if it didn't happen so often, since this morning, i have to unplug and plug it again, like 75 times !!!! I found strictly nothing in the ubuntu forums to solve this, but it looks like several people have the same issue.

The problem happens in the Unity desktop, and in the Classic Ubuntu desktop, with effects, and without any effect.

When the mouse stops, run:

dmesg | tail -n 10; lsb_release -a

Thanks
