Mouse pointer dissapears when screen saver starts in 11.04

Asked by Rodney Lancaster

Running 11.04 in classic mode although it occurred the same in the default mode after upgrading from 9.x Trying not to be fancy. Mouse pointer works fine until the screen saver kicks in. Once out of the screen saver, the mouse pointer no longer appears, although the mouse works fine when you can figure out where it is. Logging out does not restore it. Only way I've seen to restore it is to restart the system.

Worked fine until I upgraded to 11.04.

I started seeing this with 10.10, and the only way around it for me was to enable the proprietary Nvidia video driver. That prevented the problem, but not a good solution for those who want a portable system (usb based).
Add yourself to the bug 615938.

Can you help with this problem?
