Blue screen with no menus on 7.10

Asked by Ricardo

I just upgraded to 7.10 and after the final restart a blue screen appeared but no menus or other controls. Mouse clicks do nothing. At a loss as to where to go from here.

When you see the blue screen try to restart GDM by pressing CTR+ALT+BACKSPACE ( the <---- key)
or try to press CTRL+ALT+"+" or CTRL+ALT+"-"

Try to use a different new user for example "ciccio" press ALT+F2 to get a terminal then type

sudo useradd ciccio
sudo passwd ciccio
sudo addgroup ciccio audio
sudo reboot

try to access with the user "ciccio"
