the mouse is moving out of my control. a virus?

when i am doing almost anything, the mouse takes off and goes wherever it pleases. Firefox said to me it was doing a scan or something like that, and indicated i had viruses . I dont know what to think because i could not tell whether or not it was an ad or not . I did not incite this "scan" by clicking on anything or link on the page.

sound like one of those scam web add . open ff then go to edit , then click on every thing there and set it all up .only takes a little bit of time to save a lot of problems .

 and just to put a bit of extra help to ubuntu , go to software center search for virus scanner and install and set up .

you also might want to go to system - preference - mouse and adjust the settings there .
