Ubuntu 10.04 no mouse cursor

Just installed V 10.04. Everything except mouse pointer / curser operational. All I get is a white line measuring 1cm x 1mm. This changes to a square with gray graphics and is 1 cm square when on a window, such as this one ("Description") and on any text. I saw nothing in Assistive Technologies ar any where else for that matter. I have another computer that I installed the 64bit V 10.04 on without this problem. The mouse in question has been used with UBUNTU distributions, It is a Labtec optical mouse.

I found the problem. Nvidia driver needed. I thought it had installed earlier but apparentyly not. Second time around it worked. Sorry to take up space.
