Won't boot passed welcome screen

Asked by nluna

Hi community. I recently tried installing the recommended upgrades and now ubuntu won't boot passed the first splash screen. I can't get to the login screen. I can only boot in safe mode (low graphics)
Also before this happened I also changed keyring password to match the login password. I would appreciate your help. Thanks in advance,

I am running 10.04. (dual boot)

when the splash loads, press ESC and you can now watch the boot. The splash is noce but it stupidly hides useful stuff which help you to diagnose faults.
You can even boot to live CD, edit etc/default/grub on the internal partition and remove the quiet splash boot options so you can watch the full bootup.

I solved the issue. I booted in safe mode low graphics. went to system/administraion/hardware drivers and installed the recommended graphics driver for my ati/amd graphics card.
