ubuntu installation blank screen

i downloaded the ubuntu livecd and tryed to run it without installing it, it showed up the ubuntu logo and after a while the screen just went blank and nothing happened, then i tryed to run and install it but the same thing happened. i tryed about 5 different other linux systems, but the same thing happened (after the logo and blank screen) and the only linux that got past the blank screen and installed was linux mint ellysa. however i want ubuntu, so, does anyone have and suggestions of how i could get past that blank screem? thx
