xmltv package

xmltv package needs to be 0.5.70

on ubuntu 16.04.3 I installed xmltv using apt and found it was version 0.5.67. I'm told that the current version is 0.5.70.
I was told the following:

The XMLTV project has moved from sourceforge to github
(Sourceforge was closing down the cvs support, so it was
time to re-examine the VCS choice, and its residency).
The location is now: https://github.com/XMLTV/xmltv

Not sure of the process, but some of the features of 0.5.70, I need.

I suggest you report a bug. If the version is no longer supported it will be updated sooner.

If the bug and security updates are significant then the package will be updated sooner too.

Ubuntu is not a rolling release distribution and packages are left if there is no reason to update it.

You may find a PPA here
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=xmltv

Remember to filter the PPA for Xenial as not all PPAs support all Ubuntu releases. These come with the usual caveats of PPAs and are not official packages
