Is xlockmore package abandoned in raring?

Asked by Roman Fiedler

xlockmore was included in quantal but isn't available any more in raring. Still some other packages seem to refer to it, according to apt error message when attempting to install.

If xlockmore is not maintained any more, which other package provides similar functionality: minimalistic screen lock on bare X system (non-kde/non-gnome )?

It might also be a good idea to place text at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xlockmore/ and recommend other package.

Ubuntu takes over much software (including xlockmore) from Debian.
According to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=690891 Debian has stopped providing that package because it has bugs and seems not to be maintained any more. Ubuntu followed Debian's decision and has removed the version for raring.

OK, I can understand Debian decision.

It seems, that xscreensaver is a replacement for most, if not all, of the functionality xlockmore provided so I've changed deployment to use this instead.
