How to install x-input calibrate snippett

Asked by Bob Nash

I have installed the x-input calibrator for my touchscreen samsung and it works well for the session that is open, except I have no idea how to install the "snippett" or where to install it to, as the place listed in the post calibration screen does not seem to exist. I have found a "touchscreen driver" in another location but as it is an "so" type file so I have no way to open it to see if I could rewrite the calibration numbers.
Hope some one can help as this is probably one of the most important usability problems with Linux on this small computer. This has kept me on Ubuntu 9.04 for a long time as that was the last to be able to save the calibration numbers.

Thanks
Bob Nash

While I don't understand how "Suggesting I report a bug" is an answer to my question, I did see a bug report that told me where to change the file info. Now all I have to do is learn how to do that since the file is "Read Only". I guess it is time to learn about "Sudo" but to be honest I find this MUCH less than User Friendly for us old folks who no longer have a great interest in learning to program, I don't understand how this could ever be a competitive operating system with what only could be called "Non-User Friendly" problems like this or even having to keep signing in with a password every time I wish to download or change something. That is exactly why I am not interested in Windows 7. I guess its time to start thinking of not using computers.
I know no other person has access to my computer most of the time, one sign in should be enough for any program.
