There is no repo file my/new or /var/lib/cvs directory for xinetd configuration and /etc/xinetd/cvspserver file

Asked by RaviSingareddyM

I cannot open my DVD, Audio CD, Video CD, CD etc using my computer. I installed xinetd and xine-ui to do it. In the beginning I used Kaffeine player to do it. But it is on luck and it does not open fortunately.

So I installed xinetd and xine-ui from Advanced Add/remove applications. Without repository file xinetd is displaying engine error when I open a DVD. Please help.

It should open the DVD and DVD should be playable.

I also referred desktopguide.pdf and checked plugins for DVD playback.

Reply me.

Please send me the repo file, a sample to do it which should be there in /var/lib/cvs or in my/new directory

Thanks for your question.
It is very difficult to understand you.

First xinetd has nothing to do with xine, you don't need it to play dvd.

If you want to play dvd, you need to follow these steps:

1) add plf repositories:
add this repository : "deb http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/ feisty free non-free"
If you need help to add a repository, check https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu
then paste in a terminal:
wget -q http://packages.medibuntu.org/medibuntu-key.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -

2) install dvd codec
in a terminal:
sudo aptitude install libdvdread3
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh
sudo aptitude install totem-xine
sudo aptitude install libdvdcss2

Can you help with this problem?
