If you refer to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/cve/2008-3231 then this has already been backported to 1.1.14 by package upstream with bug http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=492870 and is now also part of Intrepid. See http://launchpadlibrarian.net/16966229/xine-lib_1.1.14-1ubuntu3_1.1.14-2ubuntu1.diff.gz for this.
