CANNOT disable session saving.

I am unable to disable session saving in Xubuntu 9.04.

Disable the session saving by:
-Uncheck "Automatically save session on logout" in the "General" tab of "Session and Startup".
-With some programs started, log out, making sure "Save session for future logins" is unchecked.
-Login.

=== Expected Results ===
The XFCE desktop like the very 1st login will load, plus applications in the "Application Autostart" tab of "Sessions and Startup.

=== Actual Results ===
My Previous session loaded.

To completely disable and revert to the original default session, you have to delete the previously saved session as well as not save future sessions. The steps you took will insure future sessions are not saved. Now please delete the cache files to remove the sessions that were already saved.

To delete the cache files:
rm -rf ~/.cache/sessions

Log out and log back in. This should now be the default desktop session.

Blimey, that's quite poor. It did fix my issue.

If a week into using Xubuntu, someone has the wastebasket open when they logout, then the next time they login, they decide they don't want to have session saving, because their wastebasket just loaded. They will uncheck the boxes, but the last session remains, and they get the wastebasket loading forever after. Which was what made them want to disable session saving in the 1st place.

Would a better behaviour not be to delete saved sessions either when disabling session saving, or when logging out with session saving disabled? Maybe just a "delete previously saved sessions" button next to the checkbox, allowing users to create a session, then always use it if they like?
