Bottom and top panell disappeard, no idea how to revert this situation, please help

Bottom and top panell disappeard,

This happened when I was changing the desktop layout (themes and so on)

no idea how to revert this situation, please help

first installation kubuntu 8.04 now I have added the latetst XFC desktop package as I am running on an old machine

I am inside a XFCE session, I can only see the menu bar of applications if I right-click somewhere on the desktop

If I start a new session no problem, I can see up and bottom panel

Hello

If it's the panels that are missing, press ALT+F2 and run xfce4-panel to see if that brings them back.

If that doesn't work, kill the panel by going to a terminal and entering xfce4-panel --exit and then remove your old panel configuration files with rm -R ~/.config/xfce4/panel, then restart the panel as indicated above.

and at login

You could try renaming your hidden .xfce4 folder and let all the directories and files rebuild themselves on the restart of Xfce4.

Open a terminal and enter the following command:

mv ~/.config/xfce4 ~/.config/xfce4OLD

then log out of Xfce4 and back in. You'll have to reconfigure Xfce4 to your liking. If there is anything in the OLD folder that you need, you can recover it before deleting the folder.
