How to install a Wacom Intuos CTL-480 tablet on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Asked by Rob

Sorry if this is a repeat but a search did not turn up the question. I have a wacom intuos ctl-480 that I dearly would love to use in Ubuntu. Does any know know if the new update to 14.04.1 in about two weeks will have built in support? As it is I get the "no tablet detected" error message although usb can see it confirmed from terminal. If so I may just wait. If not I may attempt the patch.

First install the xserver-xorg-input-wacom package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

If that does not help, then try these instructions:

Keep in mind that you need to manually adapt the GNU/Linux kernel version number and version number of the wacom drivers.

That did it. Thank you very much. Its working fantastically. And, it will erase when I have dual monitors activated unlike freaking windoz journal! I used the directions Mark linked here
