Documents folder is created again and again

Asked by Javier Cacho

Hi,

I am using Kubuntu 11.04 64bits with Spanish locale.

I want to change the default "Documents" folder to capitalize version (i.e. DOCUMENTS) in order to find it quickly.

For that, I have changed the default paths graphically in 'System Settings > Accounts > Paths' and also I have edit the file '$HOME/.config/user-dirs.dirs', but everytime I restart the session, the Documents folder mysteriously reappears again and again, with only one file in it: 'PB_Backup.vcf'.

Can anybody tell me what process is re-creating the file and the folder? Is this a bug?

Thanks in advance

J.C.

Hi,
a google search for "PB_Backup.vcf" tells me that this file is a backup of a Phone Book from a Sony Ericsson mobile.

Ok, I had sony Ericsson and I tried to synchronize the contacts with Kontact, but that was 6 months ago! When I open the file, it is completely empty.
Maybe there is something in Kontact that recreate the file, or maybe it is related to akonadi. I will try to remove some config files and I will report if this resolves the problem.

Cheers

Hi,

The problem was related with akonadi configuration. I remove the folder $HOME/.config/akonadi and when I restart the session... Boala: The Documents folder wasn’t there. :D

Thank for your comment, it guides me in the right path.

Greetings.
