Is XChat-GNOME dead?

Asked by Mads Peter Rommedahl

It seems that XChat-GNOME hasn't been updated since 2007 (at least that's the way their project page appear). Is development dead? Should we just go with plain XChat instead?

I would like to use XChat-GNOME because I like to have my programs well integrated in the desktop, but I don't wanna get stuck with an app that's hopelessly obsolete.

Anyone who knows anything?

Yeah, I know. Does that mean that we can conclude that XChat-GNOME is abandoned for good? Do anyone even have contact to the developers?

If it's obsolete, then I guess it wouldn't make much sense having it in the official repos..

Actually, I've just been told on IRC that XChat-GNOME is very much alive. See http://live.gnome.org/Xchat-Gnome

Yes, Xchat-Gnome is still active.

You can watch their activity at their git repo:
http://repo.or.cz/w/xchat-gnome.git

Hope this clears up the confusion!

Seems it was resurrected, and then died again. Been another few years without any real updates.
