Maverick is no longer supported in any way. I suggest you clean install Precise and wipe out Maverick.

To uninstall XBMC from Ubuntu 10.10, you can use the terminal and the apt-get command. Keep in mind that Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) is quite old and no longer supported, so you might want to consider upgrading to a more recent version of Ubuntu for better support and security. However, if you still want to uninstall XBMC, follow these steps:

Open a terminal window. You can do this by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on your keyboard or by searching for "Terminal" in the Applications menu.

To uninstall XBMC, you can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove xbmc

This command will remove XBMC from your system.

After running the command, you may be asked to confirm the removal and enter your password. Provide the necessary information to proceed.

Once the removal process is complete, you can also remove any residual configuration files using the following command:

sudo apt-get purge xbmc

This will remove any configuration files associated with XBMC.

Finally, you can clean up any leftover dependencies that are no longer needed:

sudo apt-get autoremove

XBMC should now be uninstalled from your Ubuntu 10.10 system.

Remember that since Ubuntu 10.10 is no longer supported, you may encounter difficulties finding and installing software packages, as repositories for this version are no longer maintained. It's highly recommended to upgrade to a more recent version of Ubuntu for better stability and security. source https://www.enviroworx.co.uk/
