No sound with xawtv.

Asked by Gunnar Tryggvason

I am running Xawtv on 64bit 2.6.31-21-generic. The v4l2 is working fine with Haupauge wintv express analog card, exept that there is no sound. There is a soundcard on the motherboard (Gigabite GA-M720-us3). The CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [Aidio Port] failes to give any sound with the picture. How do I capture the sound?

This is xawtv-3.95.dfsg.1, running on Linux/x86_64 (2.6.31-21-generic)

Thanks very much for the tip. I managed to get sound with the picture using Tvtime, i.e. by choosing the right Audio-standard. It seems like I could be better seeking for information. I need a good forum for installation of mythtv or Mythbuntu, any suggestions?
Tanks very much and regards

HI :)

I tried a google search for a good forum but couldn't find their official one, if there is such a thing! I did find some Community Documentation
