PNG imaps not diplayed in Xastir / lucid

Asked by HB9DTX

PNG maps are displayed as a black square in Xastir 1.9.4. As far as i've understood it's an old bug. Current versions of Xastir don't have it. Unfortunately the version of Xastir integrated in Lucid is an old one. Who takes care of updating the install packages? It's a pitty that a good work is done in the developers community, and that the "lambda" user like me, who is not used to compile the software by itself cannot profit from it.
Anybody knows how this procedure is managed?

Yves,

Unfortunately the Xastir development team has not yet adopted the Launchpad system. I keep pushing for it every chance I get.

The Xastir developement team is currently "smoke testing" .deb files that well be placed here in the PPA soon.

Go to http://www.xastir.org/wiki/Main_Page for the latest and greatest information.

The page at http://www.xastir.org/wiki/Installation_Notes should give you more than enough information to do a CVS install under 10.04-LTS

Also join the discussion at http://lists.xastir.org/mailman/listinfo/ that is where we "Xastir-ites" cuss, discuss, fuss, and get-r-done!
