python3-xapian for python3.6 anytime soon?

Asked by László Károlyi

Hey,

I'm looking for the python3-xapian package for python3.6. As I can see, the package only delivers the C binding for python3.5:

/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/xapian/_xapian.cpython-35m-x86_64-linux-gnu.so

Can we expect a 3.6 version anytime soon?

If the question is "what release I'm using", I'm using 17.04, which has python3.6 in it.

here's the output:

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu

Zesty's default version of python 3 is python 3.5 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python3-defaults

How did you install python 3.6 for zesty?
What is the output of the command
apt-cache policy python3

Artful has python 3.6, and there will be a xapian-bindings package for artful containing _xapian.cpython-36m-x86_64-linux-gnu.so

Can you help with this problem?
