CONFIG_WNM disabled for bionic and focal

Asked by Fabian

Hello,

I was wondering why the build config CONFIG_WNM=y for wpasupplicant was disabled for bionic and focal. In xenial it is active (not commented). Is there any reasoning behind it?

With this option the Wireless Network Management (IEEE Std 802.11v-2011) can be enabled (see here: https://www.spinics.net/lists/hostap/msg08429.html).

Kindest regards,

Fabian

  * Replace the PEM fix patch by Lukasz Siudut with an upstream patch.
Thanks to David Benjamin <email address hidden>.
  * Apply patches from Beniamino Galvani:
    - Fix race condition in detecting MAC address change
    - Update MAC address when driver detects a change
  * Disable WNM to resolve a compatibility issue with wl.
Thanks to YOSHINO Yoshihito <email address hidden>.
    Hopefully really closes: #833507.

Even if it might work well with Atheros devices, this change apparently makes Broadcom devices fail.

Can you help with this problem?
