Update to latest package 3.3.0

Asked by Alistair Lowe

Hi guys,

A fairly substantial stable release for Witty was provided on the 9th for version 3.3.0, including official MySQL support. it's a pain to compile from source as there's a lot of secondary packages, would be great to see this make Ubuntu 13.04.

Cheers

I suggest you report a bug

The way to request an update is to file a bug against the package.

For witty the link is here

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/witty

make sure the bug report is tagged 'upgrade-software-version'

Include details of why the update is needed: new features, bugs fixed, etc

This will at least make the developers aware that it's wanted.

There is more information here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/75352/how-to-request-an-package-upgrade-in-the-next-ubuntu-release

Please note however that Ubuntu is not a rolling release and except for security updates and significant bug fixes it is rare for packages to be updated except with a new release of Ubuntu since the developers want to be sure that in fixing one problem they have not created another.

Can you help with this problem?
