No of packets on tcp port

Asked by harsha

Is ther a way to find out the receiving and sent packets/bytes on the tcp or ftp port?

Im able to view only the received and total received bytes on the system monitor. But i would appreciate if somebody can tell me if there is a possibility of viewing the packets moving in and out on a particular port ?

Open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:
(if the system ask you a password give your user password, you will not see nothing when you type it, then press enter)

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wireshark

sudo wireshark

Hope this helps
