PlantsVsZombies not starting under Wine1.3/Ubuntu11.04, but it used to

Asked by LEGOManiac

I just clean-installed 11.04 and added Wine 1.3. I then tried out PlantsVsZombies and played it for about an hour before it crashed.

Now when I try to start it, I get:

~/Desktop/Plants vs Zombies$ wine PlantsVsZombies.exe

I've tried rebooting to no avail.

Does anyone know what the errors mean and what I can do about it?

Actually, it just dawns on me this morning that the game may have been running in demo mode which only runs for an hour.

The installer wouldn't work so I installed it on XP and licensed it, then copied the games folder from the Program Files directory to my Ubuntu workstation and played it. I'll confirm this by repeating the procedure on a different account. If it happens again, I'll close this question.

OK. I confirmed it. It didn't register properly. This is not an issue
