I need ro run commercial driver log book software on Ubuntu.

Asked by 18wdvr

I drive transport for a living and use "Drivers Daily Log" a driver log book program, as well as Streets and Trips for routing and address look up. These are the only "Windows" programs I have not found a replacement for. I can run both in a vitualbox but still have to use a "supported" version of Windows, which means I have to buy a new release of Windows every few years. This is expensive and pointless. If I have to buy windows, Maintain it, and buy a new release when support is ended. If I have to do that I may as well just run windows as my ONLY operating system.

Is there any Linux software out there to replace them? Even if I can only replace Streets and trips that would help me.

Mike.

Wine might work, but you should consider looking at a native program like Navit (http://navit.sourceforge.net/) or Pyroute (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Pyroute).

Can you help with this problem?
