Asked by Gavin

I need to reload some software but this is only recognized by Windows. I understand Ubuntu is Linux but how do I go about this task? I need to load my printer, cameras, and some other stuff. I am a complete amateur as far as computers/software is concerned so I am hoping there is a reasonably easy way to go about it. LOL. (What's the chances?) Thank you.

cameras will be seen as a usb storage device so dont have to worry there

can you attatch your printer and scanner and run:

lsusb

you could also see if the scanner just works by launching xsane from your applications menu. You could also see if the printer is automagically installed by attempting a print and seeing if the printer is selectable and works.

if not the lsusb will help us to install the relevant softwares if they exist.
